Branding an AI Tool (That Doesn’t Feel Like an AI Tool)
The best AI brands are created by humans.
Isn’t the irony hilarious? I think so. And I think it’s awesome.
Messengers was a simple, fun, AI product to work on (and it’s totally FREE…beta link below).
We wanted to create something that almost felt like it could be touched.
The inspiration for the visual aesthetic came from olive green drab fabric, and intense orange accents that contrasted nicely against it are what fueled the visuals.
The idea of being everywhere, and rallying with messengers who believe they have something to say the world needs was the driving narrative of the brand’s message.
Part of this brand was an exploration to divorce the UI, UX, and the brand identity from what’s typical in the AI branding world right now.

Brand work of any kind, whether strategy, research, identity, marketing…it’s all human work.
AI can assist with the WORK of doing some of these things, but brand work is human work because brands are anthropomorphic in nature.
You get mad at your phone carrier when you wait too long to talk to customer service. You’re not mad at a rep, you’re mad at THE brand. That’s because we ascribe human characteristics to brands all day every day. That’s the power they can have. We relate to them like people.
Therefore this work must be approached by humans, and ultimately crafted by humans (even if they do use AI for some of the tools to do the crafting).
We help tech companies create brands their buyers demand at Forrest.co, so reach out if you’re interested in working with us.
P.S. 👇🏽
I’m always looking for more contractors (designers, writers, strategists, marketers) to work with us at Forrest.co to help some of the best B2B and AI brands around the globe connect on a human level with their markets and buyers.
